{"id":977,"date":"2023-08-21T22:34:00","date_gmt":"2023-08-21T22:34:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/4-hzim.org.zw\/?p=977"},"modified":"2023-08-21T22:34:00","modified_gmt":"2023-08-21T22:34:00","slug":"youths-pledge-peace-ahead-of-polls-in-mashonaland-west","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/loyola.co.za\/4hzim\/youths-pledge-peace-ahead-of-polls-in-mashonaland-west\/","title":{"rendered":"Youths pledge peace ahead of polls in Mashonaland West."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/loyola.co.za\/4hzim\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/image-4.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-978\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">YOUTH leaders from ten political parties in Mashonaland West province have pledged to maintain peace before, during and after the harmonised elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The peace pledge signing ceremony in Karoi was facilitated by local non-governmental organisation 4-H which pushes for peace and unity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/loyola.co.za\/4hzim\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/image-5.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-979\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The National Peace and Reconciliation Commission (NPRC) has also been roped into the drive that has seen 4-H conduct a series of signing ceremonies in Midlands, Masvingo and Matabeleland South after the national peace pledge ceremony in Harare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A consultant firm involved in elections and governance, Shalestone (Pvt) Ltd is a founding partner of the peace commitments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Political parties that were represented in Karoi include Zanu PF, DOP, UZA, CCC, MDC, NCA, NPC, ZCPD, FreeZim and ZIPP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/loyola.co.za\/4hzim\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/image-8.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-982\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">4-H director, Mr Jonh Muchenje implored the youths to desist from political violence and announcing unverified poll results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWait for Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) to announce election results.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;Don\u2019t influence your followers to break the laws.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIn terms of disputes, follow the laid down procedures. We have courts that are impartial.
